01 — The Sketch Visit
We come to you first.
Every commission begins with a site visit. We walk the space together — measuring openings, reading the stonework, understanding the light at different hours. We bring a sketchbook, not a brochure. The drawings that emerge from that first conversation are yours: rough, annotated, alive with possibility. Nothing is fixed until you say it is.

02 — The Drawing
Paper before fire.
From the site sketches we develop a scaled drawing — every scroll, every bar spacing, every hinge placement worked out before a single piece of steel is cut. You see the piece in detail before it exists. We revise together until the drawing feels exactly right. Only then does the metal move.

03 — The Forging
Hands on hot steel.
The forge runs at 1,200°C. Each bar is drawn out, scrolled, and collared by hand — no laser cutting, no pressed components. The hammer marks are left where they add texture; the welds are ground flush where the eye will linger. Every joint is tested before it cools. This is slow work, and it should be.

04 — Finishing & Installation
Set in place. Built to last.
Every piece leaves the workshop primed and finished — hot-wax oil for interior ironwork, two-coat zinc primer and topcoat for exterior pieces. We install ourselves: setting posts in lime mortar, hanging gates to within a millimetre, adjusting hinges on site until the swing is right. We don't leave until it is.
